Finding Calm in the Chaos: Our Working Women’s Mindfulness Retreat at Koilery

On June 21, 2026, the HEAL Project invited the working women of Koilery (Ward 3) to take a break and focus on their well-being.
Led by our program coordinator, Chandana S, and volunteer coordinator, Ms. Aleena T J, the meeting became a safe place for everyone to speak freely. The women shared their personal stories and talked about the times they feel the most stressed. It was comforting for them to see that they are not alone in these struggles.
To help them understand their feelings, the team used a simple anxiety check called GAD-7. After that, everyone practiced easy mindfulness and relaxation exercises. These techniques help calm the mind and lower stress during a busy day.
The wonderful afternoon ended with a warm thank-you speech from ADS member Ms. Suma. Every woman left feeling stronger, closer to her neighbors, and reminded that taking care of her own mind is very important.
