GramInn organized a Mental Health Awareness Session for Women at Vadochal on 05 July 2026, bringing together 39 women for an informative and interactive programme focused on promoting mental well-being and resilience.
The session emphasized the development of essential life skills, with particular focus on emotional regulation, effective stress management, and the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between personal, family, and social responsibilities. Participants were encouraged to recognize early signs of emotional distress, adopt positive coping strategies, and seek support whenever needed.
The programme also created a safe and welcoming space where women actively shared their experiences, discussed everyday challenges, and learned from one another. The interactive discussions reinforced the importance of self-care, social support, and open conversations about mental health, helping to reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking behaviour.
As part of the initiative, the GAD-7 (Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7) screening tool was administered to assess anxiety levels among the participants. The screening supports GramInn’s commitment to early identification of mental health concerns and the promotion of community-based mental health care.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Chandana S., Programme Coordinator, with the support of Ms. Aleena T. J., Volunteer, whose efforts ensured active participation and meaningful engagement throughout the programme.
Through such community-based initiatives, GramInn continues to strengthen mental health awareness, empower women with practical life skills, and build healthier, more resilient communities.
