Mental Health Awareness Session Conducted for Women at Pariyaram Ward 9

27 September 2026 | Pariyaram Ward 9

GramInn Non-Profit Organization conducted a Mental Health Awareness Session for Women at Pariyaram Ward 9 on 27 September 2026, with the objective of promoting mental well-being, increasing awareness about anxiety and stress, and encouraging women to adopt healthy coping strategies.

A total of 16 women participated in the programme. The session provided a supportive and interactive environment where participants could openly engage in discussions and activities related to mental health. Participants expressed their happiness and appreciation for the programme and requested that similar sessions be continued regularly in the community.

As part of the programme, a Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) screening was conducted to create awareness about anxiety-related symptoms and encourage participants to pay attention to their emotional well-being. Various stress-release and relaxation activities were also conducted, providing participants with practical techniques to manage everyday stress and promote emotional balance.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Karthika, Field Social Worker, GramInn, along with Ms. Amrutha, Intern from Alphonsa College, Bathery. The facilitators encouraged participants to prioritize their mental health, practice healthy stress-management techniques, and seek appropriate support whenever required.

The positive response from the participants highlights the importance of community-based mental health initiatives. GramInn remains committed to conducting accessible and participatory programmes that promote mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and supportive communities for women.
