As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the mental and emotional well-being of older adults, GramInn organized an Evening Talk with Senior Citizens at Ward 17, Kaipattukunnu, on 03 July 2026. The programme brought together 17 Golden Stars (senior citizens) for an engaging and meaningful community interaction.
The session provided a warm and supportive space where participants openly shared their life experiences, memories, hopes, and aspirations. One elderly woman touched everyone’s hearts by sharing her long-held dream of travelling on an aeroplane. Several other participants also spoke about their personal wishes and aspirations, making the gathering both inspiring and emotionally enriching.
To support the mental health assessment component of the programme, the GAD-7 (Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7) screening tool was administered to assess anxiety levels among the participants. This initiative reflects GramInn’s continued efforts to promote healthy ageing through early identification of mental health concerns and community-based psychosocial support.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Chandana S., with facilitation support from volunteer Ms. Aleena T. J. Their dedicated efforts ensured an interactive and meaningful experience for all participants.
Through initiatives like the Evening Talk series, GramInn continues to foster dignity, emotional well-being, and social connectedness among senior citizens, creating opportunities for them to be heard, valued, and supported within their communities.
