Growing Green, Growing Awareness: Vegetable Seedlings and Women’s Rights Awareness at Parakkuni

22 September 2026

Ward 10, Parakkuni

GramInn Non-Profit Organization organized a Vegetable Seedling Distribution and Women’s Rights Awareness Programme at Ward 10, Parakkuni, bringing together community participation, environmental responsibility, and awareness on women’s rights.

A total of 39 participants actively took part in the programme. Vegetable seedlings were distributed to the participants, who enthusiastically planted them and expressed their willingness to continue eco-friendly practices at home. The initiative encouraged the community to make use of available spaces for vegetable cultivation while promoting the importance of sustainable and environmentally responsible living.

Along with the seedling distribution, an awareness session on women’s rights was conducted by the interns, with the support and guidance of the GramInn field social worker. The session provided participants with an opportunity to learn about women’s rights and discuss issues relevant to their everyday lives.

The initiative was coordinated by Ms. Amrutha KP, Mr. Shinto, Mr. Aswin KC, Mr. Aswin KS, and Mr. Sobin Jaison, interns from Alphonsa Arts and Science College, Sulthan Bathery. The programme was supported by Ms. Karthika, Field Social Worker, and Minhaj, Volunteer, GramInn.

The participants were visibly happy and actively engaged throughout the programme. Their enthusiastic participation in planting the seedlings and their involvement in the awareness session reflected a positive community response to initiatives that connect environmental sustainability with social empowerment.

Through such community-based initiatives, GramInn continues to encourage meaningful participation, promote awareness, and support communities in building a greener, more informed, and empowered future.
